Drenched

It was already raining when I left the house for a morning wander with Poppy (the dog), little did I know it was going to get a lot soggier πŸ˜‰

I’d only been out half an hour when the rain which was annoyingly persistent turned into a downpour; I was still dry inside my huge jacket but Poppy was starting to look sorry for herself. The downpour continued, the lane turned into a mass of puddles and then into a river, any moment now I thought and Noah is going to go sailing past. Just when I thought the rain couldn’t get any worse the downpour became a solid wall of water, the last remnants of visibility vanished and I had no option but to stand and hope it cleared. Slowly the rain eased off and I was left standing next to a dog which gave me a look that contained only one question “why did you have to drag me out here?”
As I returned home the sky was clearing quick, did I regret my walk in the rain, not really πŸ˜‰ Well, you find inspiration in odd places, even when you’re annoying your dog in a Cumbrian rainstorm.

  1. Very cool photo! Well worth the “humid” condition you and Poppy were in.

    1. Thanks Dragonlady, it took Poppy a while to forgive me I think, but it was worth it in the end.
