Haugr

Driving home this morning from a quick trip into the Lakes, we took a looping route back home and stopped to take a photo of the Howgills as they don’t get the attention they deserve really πŸ˜‰ The name ‘Howgill’ is another old one, it derives from the Old Norse Haugr which means hill or barrow, and Gil which means narrow valley.

Hi Graeme – great picture and awfully familiar landscape.

    Lovely scene there, Graeme πŸ™‚

Love how the light over on the right plays a little more with all the greens. πŸ˜‰
