Bloomin’ Weather

This weekend we had a friend staying with us from Brazil, so we offered to show her around the area, of course the Cumbrian weather did its best to try and dampen our spirits but it failed ;-) So here are a few photographs of our whistle stop tour of Cumbria -

As you can see, at the end of the tour the weather was perfect ;-)

A mixed bag

A few images from a misty morning yesterday, and a couple from a small wander we had this morning.

Ullswater

A quick trip down to Ullswater to blow away a few cobwebs and wander with the dog provided me with the opportunity of taking a couple of photographs.

There’s a larger version of the panoramic here.

High Snockrigg (again)

Following the sketch of High Snockrigg and Others (link) I decided to try a small watercolour of the scene.

It became a little frustrating not getting chance to properly do all the trees as I kept pausing to do other things, next time I may do the smaller trees differently, but generally I thought the result was acceptable.

Painting Stones

Today I decided to try a couple of Castlerigg Stone Circle paintings, I want to do an oil painting of the stones but time restraints mean I can only manage to rattle out quick watercolours ;-)
