The 1st of January saw a nice alignment of Mars, Neptune and Venus along with the Moon just to keep them company. Not sure I picked Neptune up on these two shots, I didn’t enlarge and tweak them to see 😉 Last night I tried for a little Moon-shot….

Planetary Magic
Whilst out for an early morning wander with Hugo I noticed Venus, Mars and Jupiter rising above the Pennines with the almost full Moon illuminating the foreground, so I wandered back to the house for the camera and tripod and went back out 😉 There’s a larger version with labels here > link.

I’ve often wondered what the Earth and Moon would look like from Mars, and thanks to the HiRISE we can at least get a very good idea.
