A little practice…

A bit more practice time getting my hand to move where it should this time it’s a small watercolour of a Hobbit hole chimney….

trying hard ;-)

I’ve been trying to get my hand/arm coordination back into working order; I’d say so far it is 50/50 there are periods where I don’t notice anything wrong, and others where my hand goes where it wants regardless of my brain shouting “go left”. Anyway, I picked a couple of images I took at Crawick Multiverse last week as references and started splashing paint around – both are A4, and after picking up the car from the garage this morning and receiving the bill in the form of a bound book with an index, glossary etc., they’re both for sale (£4000 each or both for £10000).

Long Meg in Glass

Thought I’d try a bit more stained glass, this time I picked Long Meg, the base was made from a piece of Ash.

Well it’s been a while

I’ve not painted in far too long, it hurts to paint which is rather annoying when I enjoy the time with a paintbrush as it’s a good opportunity to switch off the brain anyway I decided to try and paint something a week or so ago, luckily I could manage a few minutes at a time before the niggling pains stopped play. As it’s been a while since I painted anything I wanted to go back to basics and grabbed a 25x18cm piece of paper, some cobalt blue and raw umber watercolour, and some white gouache for a painting of the sea at Silloth, Cumbria.

Packhorse Bridge

I took a photo of this bridge (the packhorse bridge in Ivegill) to use in a painting, but while I pondered the painting I thought it would work as a pen and ink drawing. Given my hand issues (inner expletive), this has taken far too many weeks to complete.

Meg

Decided to try a watercolour landscape as it felt like too long since I’d painted something So I used one of my recent photos from my wander around Long Meg Stone Circle.

L’al doodle

Small doodle (as I’m limiting my drawing board time as my hand is on the dodgy side at the moment), this time it’s one of the Cockpit Stone Circle stones, from our visit last year, doodled in charcoal.
