The 1st of January saw a nice alignment of Mars, Neptune and Venus along with the Moon just to keep them company. Not sure I picked Neptune up on these two shots, I didn’t enlarge and tweak them to see

Whilst out for an early morning wander with Hugo I noticed Venus, Mars and Jupiter rising above the Pennines with the almost full Moon illuminating the foreground, so I wandered back to the house for the camera and tripod and went back out

Early start today which was handy as it gave me chance to take a couple of astrophotography shots as comet Ison is up and about as well

Earth and Moon from Mars

I’ve often wondered what the Earth and Moon would look like from Mars, and thanks to the HiRISE we can at least get a very good idea.

It’s certainly a site I’ll be returning to just to see what they image next you never know, one of the images may give me enough inspiration to write something or paint a scene from space
