I took a photo of this bridge (the packhorse bridge in Ivegill) to use in a painting, but while I pondered the painting I thought it would work as a pen and ink drawing. Given my hand issues (inner expletive), this has taken far too many weeks to complete.

I had this random idea to draw/paint a selection of waterfalls from around Cumbria, so to get some practice in I found a random waterfall image from the area and started a pen and ink piece, along the way I decided to add some watercolour washes then shade it a bit more in Photoshop.

Now I need to get a canvas, some oil paints and try to do the scene properly

I sat down to practice some watercolour techniques, so it was only logical that I taped a piece of paper to the board and started a pen and ink drawing with a Tolkien theme I was going to add a colour tint but decided to leave it as it is.

I have a large list of things to illustrate, a large list of landscapes to paint, another large list of digital projects to work on, oh, and there’s some glass work to fit in as well. However, the other day looking at my to-do projects didn’t inspire me so I asked Julie what I should work on next, she suggested Sourmilk Gill which is an impressive sight next to Buttermere in the Lake District.
