We enjoyed visiting the Jackie Morris exhibition at Rheged, Penrith a couple of times this summer. There was a poster on display which we liked however we couldn’t buy a copy (being a poor starving artist and the fact they had none left ;-)). Fast forward a week or three and I was looking for some type to play with, and I decided to make my own version (it’s just for fun), being digital it doesn’t have the same feel but I enjoyed playing.

I’ve not tried Lino cutting for a while so decided to attempt a print of a hare. As I was cutting away I thought a bench hook would be quite handy to stop the Lino sliding away, looking online they were £20+ which I thought a bit steep for a few bits of wood, a quick tinker in the workshop with some scraps of wood and I had something which worked quite well.

Might tinker a bit more with the Lino but this is it so far….

High Stile

Just trying to platy catch up, this is from a couple of weeks ago when we were driving through the Lakes. We dropped down Honister Pass and the light was changing all the time with clouds rolling across the fell tops, near the bottom of the pass we parked up to give Hugo a bit of fresh air and a wander about as we did so the light kept breaking through the cloud and hitting High Crag and High Stile, so I took a few photographs. This is the one I particularly liked from the day and decided to make a print of it (it’ll be available as a limited edition print soon).

I was going to play in the garden with the camera this morning, then it started to rain so I retreated in doors and got a little ‘arty’ with a daffodil
