During our day out yesterday we noticed a sign for a Viking treasure that was on display in Kirkcudbright, so we popped in to have a look, it was very impressive work (given that it was buried in 900AD).

Ǫlvir the Often Nauseated sadly never found his sea legs, and so he was relegated to taking tourists out for sunset tours in his longboat. Okay, this is a quick digital doodle to get me started on the theme of the month on John’s website.

I wrote a short story about a Viking King’s funeral pyre a good while ago (well, I think I need to finish it off yet ;-)) while I was writing I started a digital doodle to get in the mood, but didn’t finish that either :-), anyway when the theme of the month popped up for Vikings over on John Howe’s website I thought it was a worthwhile finishing off the doodle.
