Another late posting (the next one will be late too :-))

Bl**dy Laminate

I spent far too long laying some laminate floor, much of the time I thought I’d much rather be sketching something though thoughts of stacking the laminate flooring up and putting a match to it did cross my mind once or twice.

Around this time I was trying to come up with ideas for a painting titled ‘Night Wings’ it was for the theme of the month over on John Howe’s website.

We’ve been redecorating the kitchen, it involved painting…

The Water Garden

I started scribbling hills, just for the fun of it, and decided that really they would have a huge water garden beneath them, now I just need to work out who wanders around them.

Nearly half way through the years sketch challenge – blimey!

Stones and Multiple Hats

I was going to try for a serious sketch for a change, and so I attempted to sketch an oldish bloke in a cloak (bloke in a cloak, wasn’t that a detective series in the ’70s ?) Anyway, I attempted this bloke, no references to hand but I’ve sketched heads before…. sadly this guy has a manky look about him, which has gained him the title ‘manky eyed bloke’

So, my mind then turned to Stone Circles, not ancient weather beaten half removed affairs, but to wondering what it would have been like as the first stone slid into place –

Finally, something just a little bit silly, wizards hats through the grades, from a 5H pencil to a 5B one

Another delayed blog, well, we were away on a weeks holiday

Stones & Distant Islands

A quick sketch inspired by Duddo Stone Circle, it wasn’t sketched from the actual stones, but when we were walking away I looked back and glimpsed the stones poking up from the hill top and I had a sudden idea for a painting…

And finally a sketch inspired by our view of the Farne Islands as we paddled in the sea

An early post for this weeks challenge as I’m getting ready to go away for a few days.

A Tree

This week I’ve been painting (in a fashion) trees, I say in a fashion as they’ve all been digital trees and so when I had chance I felt the need to purge myself and grab a real pencil and create something real!
