Today we had a run out to Sizergh Castle which is only a few miles outside of Kendal in Cumbria. We first met up at Sizergh Barn with a friend for coffee and cake, the barn is just outside the grounds of Sizergh Castle and is an excellent place to stop for a bite. The gardens at Sizergh Castle are great for a wander with the camera, I could not take photographs inside the castle as it’s not allowed, but I managed a few outside π

Long Meg and her Daughters
Today we had a quick run out to Long Meg stone circle, well the stone circle is actually made up from Long Meg’s daughters and Long Meg is a single Menhir standing alone outside the circle. The light was tricky, with the clouds drifting quickly in front of the Sun, but it was nice to get out and wander amongst the stones. Click here for larger version π

Driving home from work this morning I became more and more frustrated, the Sun had not crept above the Pennines and the valleys were filled with mist, with the odd tree poking it’s head out of the mist like a lone sentinal to the morning.
