The Sleeping Place

We went to Penrith cemetery today for a wander around to look at the various forms of memorials, headstones, and grave markers. I took the camera along of course which to some may be a bit of an odd thing to do, but those weathered stones have some wonderful textures on them. When we returned home I decided to look up the word ‘cemetery’ as I could not remember where it came from, trust the Greeks to come up with κοιμητήριον: sleeping place. Patches of Light and Green

Went for an early morning wander and spent a little bit of time watching the patches of light come and go amongst the trees. It’s quite interesting to watch how quickly things change as the Sun climbs above the horizon creating different patterns as its rays pass through the branches and leaves. Maybe one day I’ll manage a time lapse of it.
