We went to Penrith cemetery today for a wander around to look at the various forms of memorials, headstones, and grave markers. I took the camera along of course which to some may be a bit of an odd thing to do, but those weathered stones have some wonderful textures on them.
When we returned home I decided to look up the word ‘cemetery’ as I could not remember where it came from, trust the Greeks to come up with κοιμητήριον: sleeping place.
