Driving home this morning from a quick trip into the Lakes, we took a looping route back home and stopped to take a photo of the Howgills as they don’t get the attention they deserve really π The name ‘Howgill’ is another old one, it derives from the Old Norse Haugr which means hill or barrow, and Gil which means narrow valley.

So I decided to try a digital version, this time I worked in a couple of my photographs for the misty trees, slapped some hills in the background and of course repainted the flying eagle/dwarf/hobbit combo π
