I went out to try the new filter* on the camera again (I’d tried it yesterday but didn’t like the results (operator error I’m afraid)), anyway, I plodded up the lane beside the field and thought the open gate with the crop wafting in the wind was quite an interesting effect so set up and I was much happier with the result…. *Lee Big Stopper

The other day I was wandering down the river, not by the river of course, we’ve been walking in the river to cool Hugo off. Anyway, I noticed the light coming through the trees looked rather nice so decided to try and capture it π whilst I liked the colour version of the photograph I much preferred this black and white version.

The theme of the month for July over on John Howe’s website is ‘Books‘, which started me thinking about books and what they mean to different people. To me they often open doors to unexpected places, or sometimes to expected places but where you often discover something new π So this is a composite in photoshop of a book opening a doorway into the Shire, with a willing Hobbit ready for a wander π
