Given it is supposed to be summer we’ve had far too many cloudy grey sky days recently. I’d been hoping for some nice summer days to get out with the camera and sketch book, and whilst there have been some nice days they’ve been too few for my liking π So, given the weather wasn’t playing nice I decided to make the best of it and try to use the clouds and patchy light to my advantage.

Towards the hills
These two photographs are the result of a quick wander when I noticed the light was looking quite interesting (after a spell of grey skies ;-)). I’ve kept the colour versions handy for some Shire/Tolkien themed paintings π

The other day I was wandering down the river, not by the river of course, we’ve been walking in the river to cool Hugo off. Anyway, I noticed the light coming through the trees looked rather nice so decided to try and capture it π whilst I liked the colour version of the photograph I much preferred this black and white version.

Well, no we’re not, we’ve been on broadband for years, but sadly the performance for us is never quite what the companies advertise and you get the feeling at times you’re back on dial up. So the other day I set the computer up to stream Formula 1 live via BT Broadband, now the thing with F1 is you don’t really want to miss bits, nor do you want the stream to pause every minute or so while the stream buffers again and again. I took the plunge and purchased a new camera, of course the day it arrived there was grey cloud and no light to really play with the camera, then around 2100hrs the clouds broke just a little and I managed to grab one photograph of the pond.
