Brougham Castle
I paused briefly (it was too cold to linger) by Brougham Castle, Penrith, this morning as the Moon looked good behind it illuminating the river. I ended up having to put this image together from three different photographs to get close to what I actually saw.

I was intending taking some larger landscapes today, but we were stuck in fog and murk all day. Eventually I decided to wander down to a small waterfall and take a few photographs. I could not decide whether to leave this one in colour or black and white, so I’ve uploaded both, some will like the colour, some the b&w. I paused halfway through taking the photographs and wondered for a moment how I was going to get out again having half slid down down moss and ice covered stones…

I went down to the River Eden at Langwathby this morning to see how it looked in the moonlight. Mist was rising from the water and the Moon was silhouetted behind the trees on the river bank, the only sound I could hear was a few ducks muttering away on the far bank. Then the ducks stopped their chatter (which was probably the result of me making so much noise getting there), and the mist whipped up surrounding me.
