Following the sketch of High Snockrigg and Others (link) I decided to try a small watercolour of the scene. It became a little frustrating not getting chance to properly do all the trees as I kept pausing to do other things, next time I may do the smaller trees differently, but generally I thought the result was acceptable.

A slight departure from my usual stuff I suppose but this morning I decided to play with some Derwent pencils for a while. Rather than use them as I normally do, to sketch out a rough idea before painting, I decided to complete a drawing with them on a nice piece of crisp white Bristol paper. Another slight departure was the subject matter.
