The only benefit I can see for working silly hours is the sights you see driving too and from work. My journey home this morning was quiet (as most sensible folk were in bed), and the views inspiring. I almost wish I didn’t need to sleep so I could get to painting a misty Shire scene, as it is I’ll post the photographs from my drive home and then crash out for a few hours.

I’d been hoping for some nice summer days to get out with the camera and sketch book, and whilst there have been some nice days they’ve been too few for my liking 😉 So, given the weather wasn’t playing nice I decided to make the best of it and try to use the clouds and patchy light to my advantage.
