I took a different route the other day for my wander, on that wander I noticed a view which I thought “that might make a nice photograph”. There were a couple of drawbacks though, firstly the light was terrible and the air filled with drizzle, secondly and probably more importantly I didn’t have my camera on me. Freedom
Wandering the lanes and fields this morning I paused to watch this bird wheel above the barley field, all I could hear was the wind rustling the leaves and long grass. The sense of freedom was almost akin to what the bird must feel up there π

…..we’re almost there, we’ve almost finished the move, just a few boxes to unpack and a few bookcases to make and we’ll be sorted, I think…. Anyway, I’ve not had much chance to get the camera out lately which has been annoying me, almost as much as the limited time I’ve had with a pencil π Still, I did manage a few photographs at the weekend. Driving home this morning from a quick trip into the Lakes, we took a looping route back home and stopped to take a photo of the Howgills as they don’t get the attention they deserve really π The name ‘Howgill’ is another old one, it derives from the Old Norse Haugr which means hill or barrow, and Gil which means narrow valley.
