Hugo rescued some ice from the pond today, well, he rescued lots of ice from the pond – for some reason he breaks the ice, drags chunks to the bank then goes back for more. Anyway, one of the pieces he rescued looked quite interesting when held up to the light with all the trapped air bubbles glinting in the light.

A good start
Well, it was almost a good start, the thermometer on the car read -7.5C when I jumped in to go shopping this morning, and whilst the car started fine the brakes had decided to freeze on :-/ anyway, the delay in setting off meant I caught the dawn sky over the Pennines π
