Today I decided to play with type, I’d had some text in mind for a while but didn’t have the right background for it. Thankfully today I managed a couple of photographs before the Sun came up one of which fit the bill quite nicely. So I tweaked the photograph, trimmed it to size, and then started playing with type. I woke fairly early and decided to check the sky, as it was clear I popped out into the garden in the hope of photographing comet Ison. I managed a few ‘star’ photographs before the cloud started to play games, the horizon was clear one minute and obscured the next. I’ve yet to check all the photographs for Ison, but I did like this one star pic. In between looking for Ison I turned the camera towards the Moon. Stars, Planets, and a bit of Aurora

I set off to work a few minutes early this morning so I could take a couple of photographs. I’d been reading reports of the aurora borealis when I woke and decided to try and spot some (I’d have stayed up to watch it during the night but I need my beauty sleep before a long day at work ;-)). Is it that time already

Standing in the garden at 0400hrs today I stood for a moment and gazed at the stars, then I decided to cut short my morning coffee in order to take a couple of photographs, well you never know when the skies will be clear again. As I focussed the camera I noticed a couple of stars poking above the Pennines and realized that it was Orion making an appearance, I hadn’t realized the season was that far on. Anyway, here’s Jupiter and Venus above the Pennines, lets hope for plenty…
