A Wee Break

We had a few days away in Scotland, wandering, hiding, drinking, sleeping, and taking a photo or two… Our first stop was on the way to our accommodation, just outside Dumfries is the stone circle Twelve Apostles – On the first day we visited Crawick Multiverse, which continued the standing stone theme really 😉 We also stopped by one of those Andy Goldsworthy eggs, I believe it’s an advertisement for his building work, or maybe a sample of his brickwork abilities. Sketching The Stones

I’ve been trying to use more carbon is my sketches and so I tried, Royal Sovereign Wolff’s Carbon (2B) for a couple of sketches. They’re quite nice to use but hard to get a scan of the finished piece that looks anything like the original 😉 I also tried out the Derwent Artists Sketching Pencil (Midnight) for one of the sketches which was also nice to use but I found it a little waxy.
