We enjoyed visiting the Jackie Morris exhibition at Rheged, Penrith a couple of times this summer. There was a poster on display which we liked however we couldn’t buy a copy (being a poor starving artist and the fact they had none left ;-)). Fast forward a week or three and I was looking for some type to play with, and I decided to make my own version (it’s just for fun), being digital it doesn’t have the same feel but I enjoyed playing.

We had a wander this morning to look for a stone circle we’ve never visited before, we tried to find it years ago and completely missed it (but then we didn’t have a map or a phone with us ;-)). Luckily we found the Cockpit Stone Circle quite easily this time, was a bit strange visiting it on a busy day for walkers/cyclists/horse riders and for no one else to pause and look at the stone circle.

Memory box time, this one was made as a wedding gift for my niece, and was made from three different woods – Walnut for the two side pieces, Ash for the front and back pieces, then Oak for the lid. For the hinges I used some more of the Walnut, no metal fixing were used on the actual box, though screws were used to fix the name plate inside the lid.
