Having been re-reading the early chapters of Lord of the Rings recently I decided to try illustrating the Barrow-downs, my first attempt in watercolour was a mess, not sure why it just didn’t work at all. So I attempted a quick digital piece, but it looked weird and so fake it was embarrassing π my only option of course was to combine watercolour and digital – well, it wasn’t my only option as that failed badly too π so I started an acrylic version, I was almost happy with the sky and background hills then I added a fog filled valley and made a mess. Here’s version 97 – I went with acrylic and digital fog….
