Silly Time
I decided to complete a quick pen & ink piece to get my eye and hand back into doing things. So I thought a quick submission for the theme of the month over at John Howe’s website was in order. This months theme is Head in the Clouds which is handy for someone living in Cumbria, I mean, we have our fair share of clouds to use as reference pieces
Anyway, not having time to complete a serious study of clouds, I scribbled something a bit quicker, first of all I completed the pen & ink version…

I then thought to myself, hmmm perhaps I should colour this pen & ink piece…..

I was nearly finished tinting the piece in Photoshop when Julie pointed out I’d spent around three times longer in Photoshop than I did with the pen & ink
Now I need to do something a bit more serious.
Misty Mornings
Many years ago around this time of year I would love to grab the camera, tripod and a few rolls of film before vanishing into the hills for a few hours; I’d love the crisp morning air, the light glinting off the Fell tops and those perfect reflections in the lakes. Misty mornings were a nightmare, gone where the clean defined lines that I loved to photograph, reflections were lost to the blurring swirling mists, a misty morning in those days was one to leave the camera behind and get lost in a good book.
