We decided we should have some side tables and a coffee table to match the Morris chair from 2015, since the chair I’ve moved workshops and house π It’s taken a while to get to this stage, not having a great deal of spare time to get into the workshop but after much whittling of large oak boards, the coffee table is now finished.

Back into the valley
After the smaller study a week or so ago I attempted a larger version in watercolour, this one is 66 x 22.5cm. I’m still pondering and dithering as to whether this is the final version or whether it should be in oils π Actually, I quite like the left hand wall so maybe I won’t try again. This started out as a larger piece, with distant hills creating a shaft of light from the setting sun, I didn’t like it though (being pickier than usual which is saying something ;-)). Anyway, I took the pen & ink thrush added a bit of background texture then played with type for a while….
