I had a scrap of illustration board lying around so I decided to practice a landscape in watercolour, well, I’ve been painting quite a few night scenes lately something in daylight was in order π . I’ve never tried one of Great Dun Fell before so I picked that as a subject. It’s one I need to revisit soon.

Diverting
Driving home from my last night shift of the week and the sunrise was really distracting, the desire to sleep was pushed aside by the desire to take a photograph or two. A short distance from work the Sun was already poking above the Pennines but there was little in the foreground that was working so I carried on resigned to the fact that it wasn’t working today. Then I realised that as I went down towards the river Eden the Sun wouldn’t be as high in the sky so…
