Sunsets and Stained Glass

Yesterday I took a few photographs of the Sun as it set behind a small Oak tree, but as I was tired I decided to leave the photographs until this morning to sort out. So, this morning I uploaded the photographs to the computer and looked at the thumbnails.

As I browsed the thumbnails I was struck by how much they reminded me of stained glass, with that thought lodged somewhere in my head I brought up photoshop and started to play, until I created a ‘Sunset Stained Glass’.

There are not many photographs this would work with really, but I quite like the effect this one gave. Here is the original photograph for comparison.

Last Light

I’d put the camera away for the day as I did not think I’d get chance to use it again and I was just pulling some bread from the oven when Julie called through that I may want to grab my camera. When I looked at the Pennines out of the living room window the last light of the day was casting a nice red tinge on the hills and the cloud looked rather good so I did indeed grab my camera and snapped a few shots.
