I know there is a reason why I use computers so much in my spare time, but when they go wrong I start to wonder why.
Anyway, I’ve known for a while the laptop was not feeling too good, it had a temperature and every now and then would go all wobbly for a while. I thought at first it had picked up a bug, as there have been quite a few knocking about lately, but in the end it looks like it could have been a hardware failure. So after staring at a blue screen with a list of files currently being deleted (apparently it deleted them for safety reasons as it thought they were corrupt), I tried to reinstall the system software but it did not seem to like that, perhaps I hurt it’s feelings 🙂
Now I have the decision to either replace the laptop, which is going to be expensive (not that I can afford an Apple which would solve a lot of problems); or I can try buying a new hard drive and doing a fresh install of everything – however given the age of the laptop it could end up as a false economy. Decisions decisions…
Of course if anyone has a Macbook sitting around gathering dust just ask for my postal address, I’ll stop it cluttering up your house for you 🙂
