I wasn’t all that happy with the illustration of Bilbo escaping to the eyrie I completed the other day. So I decided to try a digital version, this time I worked in a couple of my photographs for the misty trees, slapped some hills in the background and of course repainted the flying eagle/dwarf/hobbit combo 😉

Driving home this morning I decided to take a couple of photographs to show how bad light pollution in this area has become. Farms are now lit up brighter than Blackpool and Penrith is bathed in such a horrendous glow I’m surprised there’s any wildlife left.
