Misc.
Typical
This morning we needed to go to the shop for some dog food, so rather than wait until the shops were packed we had an early run out. When we left the shop we decided to drive the long way home
The cloud was very low over the Pennines but the light was breaking through in odd places giving quite a nice effect, so I had to take a couple of photographs…
For some reason this next photograph makes me want to draw hill with a golden hall upon it – yes I’m thinking of Meduseld before anyone asks
When we returned home we put the beer and cider in the fridge, placed the herbs on the relevant shelf, tucked away the onions…. then realized we’d forgot the dog food, typical really
Adobe mathematics
Today I received an email from Adobe offering Photoshop CS5 at a discount price, nothing unusual there really, Adobe like many other companies send out offers on email quite regularly. So, being in need of the full version of Photoshop I went to check out the offer. They had indeed applied a good discount to the full version and so I thought, rather than look at the outright purchase price why not check out the cost to upgrade my current version (Elements 7) after all upgrading is always cheaper….

Is it just me or do the maths no longer add up? It would cost £230 more to upgrade an existing version than to buy a full version outright :-/ still, I’m often confused by software prices, and I still can’t afford the discounted price – one day…
I have to ask…
….with all that is going on in the World today why is this the most read story on the BBC -
Are people so shallow that the most important thing they want to read about is some singer who can’t remember the words to a song at some ball game* When I saw the headline this more my first reaction was “so what?” 12 hours later it’s still the most read story. We do live in a strange old World
*disclaimer, to all my friends in America, I know the odd person over there considers the Super Bowl to be more than ‘some ball game’ I’ve yet to see one to know the appeal.
