Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy
February brings a book theme to the monthly ‘competition’ over on the John Howe website so I decided to start with a rather concise guide book 😉 It does make me think that a rereading of the whole trilogy in five parts is in order 😉

The theme of the month for July over on John Howe’s website is ‘Books‘, which started me thinking about books and what they mean to different people. To me they often open doors to unexpected places, or sometimes to expected places but where you often discover something new 😉 So this is a composite in photoshop of a book opening a doorway into the Shire, with a willing Hobbit ready for a wander 🙂

A little bit more on the airship theme, after this one it’s a more serious bit of watercolour work on the agenda 😉 So, following on from this piece I wondered how the airship would work if it were included into a children’s book, the only way to find out was to rough up a page from the book 🙂
